At the vineyard …
In this summer, the grape does not know the rest. Major work stops if not regular trimming.
Vegetation side : we speak of aoûtement. This term corresponds to a change in the color of the branches; the branches pass from the green to the brown, it is the lignification, the vegetable becomes wood.
Fruit side : the grapes continue to take its definitive color and the level of maturity of the grapes is closely followed. Clusters are collected regularly for the tasting of berries as well as for physicochemical analyzes (Sugars, Total acidity, pH, Malic acid, Tartaric acid …). The objective is to determine for each plot the optimum harvesting slots.
At the estate, much remains to be done to prepare the stewardship of this harvest week. Do not improvise for the reception of twenty cutters and porters. The necessary equipment is inspected. Vehicles, secateurs, seals, hoods, tanks are examined, cleaned and revised.
A silica (501, biodynamic preparation using 4g of preparation for 1ha) is made on August 22nd and 23rd. At this time, this preparation acts on the plant through the maturation process of the fruits (balance, preservation).
