At the vineyard…

During August, veraison continued and ripening progressed.

A late heatwave (from 18 August) with temperatures of up to 37°C set in for several days before a significant drop in temperature after a thunderstorm.
Note that on 24 August, the peak temperature (under cover) was reached, with 38°C at 2m and 41°C in the area of the grappes !
*18 au 24 août = warmest period ever after 15 august.

Consequences to varying degrees:
* scalding
* berries wilting
* rotting .

In view of these observations, the start of the harvest was set for 6 September.

Observations and regular sampling will enable us to monitor the development of ripeness and the state of health of the grapes.
