June 2021 A timid start to disbudding
In the vineyard…
The weather is not really spring-like as it is wet and quite cool.
The growth of the plant is very slow.
Disbudding started on 12 May (19 April in 2020).
This year, as a result of the frost period, growth is heterogeneous and disbudding is mainly concentrated on the base where branches that develop are generally useless and unproductive.
Exceptionally, on vines severely affected by frost, these branches are left to allow for future pruning the following winter.
